【あらすじ】

江戸・下町。

蕎麦職人の喜助は腕利きだが、女房を亡くしてから酒と博打に沈み、店の暖簾も心も色褪せた。

娘のお峰は、手拭いを麺棒代わりに稽古を重ね、かつての味と家の誇りを取り戻そうとする。

気を配る大家・お金、将来を誓う若旦那・仙太郎——支える手はあるのに、喜助は素直になれない。投げられた言葉は時に棘となり、暖簾は外され、家族は散りかける。

月日は流れ、店先にふと現れた来客が、止まっていた時を揺り動かす。

飢えた者に差し向ける一杯、胸の底に沈めた後悔、そして“家”に帰る道しるべ。

暖簾はただの布ではない。守るべき味、継ぎたい心、交わした約束のかたちだ。

湯気の向こう、かつての香りがそっと立ちのぼる——家族の絆は、今日も温かい。

Edo—shitamachi (the downtown quarter).

Kisuke, a skilled soba maker, has sunk into drink and gambling since losing his wife; the shop’s noren (curtain)—and his heart—have faded. His daughter, Omine, practices with a tenugui in place of a rolling pin, determined to restore the old flavor and the family’s pride. Okane, the attentive landlady, and Sentarō, a young shopkeeper who has pledged his future, offer helping hands—yet Kisuke can’t bring himself to accept them. Words hurled in frustration turn to thorns; the noren comes down, and the family begins to come apart.

Time passes, and a chance visitor at the shopfront jolts the stopped clock. A bowl set before the hungry, regrets long sunk to the bottom of the heart, and a signpost pointing the way back to “home.”

A noren is not just cloth; it is the shape of a taste to be kept, a spirit to be passed on, a promise once made. Beyond the steam, the old aroma rises softly—the bonds of family are warm, even today.
