【あらすじ】

とある島の浜辺。網元・善兵衛（養子）は、兄の家に身を寄せる「たえ」の行く末を案じていた。三年前、兄の倅・滝次郎は祝言を前に島を出たまま、便りひとつない。たえは滝次郎の父を看病しながら、ただ帰りを待ち続けている。

そこへ江戸から来た薬売り・弥一が現れ、たえに縁を迫る。島の噂は広がり、善兵衛は怒りと情の間で揺れる——たえの幸せを願うほど、言葉は乱れ、胸はざわつく。

やがて、島に戻る影。すれ違った三年の空白が、浜の暮らしを揺さぶる。

船の刻限が迫る中、選ばれるのは“義理”か“人情”か。島風のように切なく、あたたかい人情芝居。

On a small island shore, Zenbei—the adopted headman of the fishing guild—can’t stop worrying about Tae. Three years ago, Takijirō, the son of Zenbei’s elder brother, left the island on the eve of his wedding and has not sent a single word since. Tae remains behind, caring for Takijirō’s ailing father, clinging to the hope that he will return.

Then a traveling medicine peddler from Edo, Yaichi, appears and asks Tae to leave with him. Rumors spread through the island in an instant, and Zenbei is torn between anger and compassion—because the more he wishes for Tae’s happiness, the more his heart and words betray him.

And then, a shadow returns to the island. The three-year silence begins to shake the quiet life on the shore. With the time of departure drawing near, a choice must be made: duty, or human feeling?

A bittersweet, warm-hearted drama—like an island wind that cuts and comforts at once.
