【あらすじ】

三代続いた鼈甲問屋・成田屋。

ある年、米相場のあおりを受けてその暖簾は潰え、ひとつの家族が離れ離れとなる。

足に障がいを抱える長男・正吉は、親戚を頼り平城山へ。

時を同じくして、妹・おせつもまた一人で彷徨いはじめる。

すれ違う運命、寄る辺なき暮らし――それでも、二人は再び巡りあう。

通りすがりの人々の情、かすかな光、そしてあの人の思い出が、

ふたりをやさしく包んでいく。

闇の中を照らすのは、ひと夜の蛍火か、それとも――

Scattered by misfortune, a brother and sister each begin their journey alone.

Seijiro, the older brother, burdened by a physical disability, is sent to live with distant relatives in a mountain village.

His younger sister, Osetsu, quietly sets out in search of something—someone—to hold onto.

Their paths cross again, against all odds.

But the world has changed.

Hardship, poverty, and the cold indifference of others press in around them.

Yet, in that darkness, small kindnesses begin to glow.

A stranger’s compassion.
