【あらすじ】

大阪・長屋の大工棟梁、政五郎。

酒が好きで、お調子者、筋金入りの早とちり。

今日も弟子のトメと珍騒動を巻き起こす、どこか憎めない棟梁だ。

そんなある日、老舗の商家・伊勢屋の旦那がやってくる。

話は「政五郎の息子・清次郎と娘・お咲の縁談について」——

だが、話を聞いた政五郎は、自分への求婚話と大早合点！

まさかの“本人がその気”になり、嫁も巻き込んで大騒動。

勘違いが勘違いを呼び、笑いが笑いを呼ぶ、こてこての上方喜劇、ここに開幕！

In bustling Edo-period Osaka lives Masagoro, a jovial carpenter master who’s as fond of sake as he is prone to jumping to conclusions.

With his sharp-tongued wife, dim-witted apprentice Tome, and an upstanding son Seijiro (currently apprenticed to a merchant), Masagoro leads a life full of chatter and cheerful chaos.

One day, the wealthy merchant Iseya pays him a visit with exciting news:

He’d like to arrange a marriage between his daughter Osaki and Masagoro’s son Seijiro.

But Masagoro, ever the quick thinker—and even quicker to misunderstand—believes the marriage proposal is for himself!

Delighted and deluded, he stirs up a ruckus, dragging everyone into a whirlwind of confusion, misread letters, mysterious gifts (including a cat’s bones and an umbrella?), and a houseful of shouting.

As misunderstandings stack up like timber in his workshop, will Masagoro realize what’s really going on before it's too late?
