【あらすじ】

江戸の外れ、名もなき田舎村。

渡世人・浅間の喜多郎は、一宿一飯の恩義に報いるべく、佃一家の貸元・仁兵衛へ命を懸けた勝負を挑む。仁兵衛に深手を負わせた喜多郎に向けられたのは、意外にも温かな言葉だった。

「堅気になって国に帰り、親孝行してやれ——」

その教えを胸に、喜多郎は三年ぶりに故郷へ戻る。

だが、待っていた父・源三の口からは無情な言葉がこぼれる。

「うちの息子は三年前に死んだ。」

突き返され、傷心の喜多郎を今度は復讐の手が追う。

追いつめられた男に、手を差し伸べたのは——かつて敵だった男だった。

In a quiet rural town on the outskirts of Edo, a lone yakuza named Kitaro of Asama repays a meal and shelter with blood.

He challenges Jibei, the head of the Tsukuda clan, to a deadly duel—and leaves him gravely wounded.

But instead of vengeance, Jibei offers Kitaro something else: a path to redemption.

“Return to your home,” he says. “Leave the yakuza life behind. Be a son to your father once more.”

Taking the words to heart, Kitaro journeys back to his hometown after three long years.

But when he stands before his aging father, Genzo, dressed in his yakuza garb, he’s met with cold denial:

“My son died three years ago.”

Broken yet determined, Kitaro is soon hunted down by the Tsukuda clan seeking retribution.

But it is Jibei’s son, the young heir Masagoro, who chooses to listen instead of strike.

Together, they hatch one final scheme—one last performance—to melt the old man’s stubborn heart and restore the bond of blood.
