【あらすじ】

傘張り職人・友次の長屋先に、旅姿の娘・小糸が倒れる。

腹を空かせた彼女が探すのは、三年前に姿を消した父——後藤平八郎。

届け仕事に向かう途中、関西訛りの流れ者・瓢六が転がり込み、白飯ひと椀と「相身互い」のひと言が、見知らぬ者同士の懐を近づける。

近江から江戸へ、恩と借り、侍の面目と家族の明日が交錯し、三人の道は思いがけず一つに重なっていく。世間の目か、娘の手か。誇りか、暮らしの糧か。

答えはまだ出ない。ただ、歩くほどに“男の街道”はくっきりと浮かび上がる。

Outside the nagaya of Tomoji, an umbrella mender, a traveling girl named Koito collapses from hunger.

She is searching for the father who vanished three years ago—Goto Heihachirō. On Tomoji’s delivery rounds, a Kansai-accented drifter, Hyōroku, tumbles into their orbit; a single bowl of plain rice and the phrase aimi-tagai—“we help each other”—bring strangers a little closer.

From Ōmi to Edo, favors and debts, a samurai’s face and a family’s tomorrow intersect, and the three travelers find their paths unexpectedly converging.

The eyes of the world, or a daughter’s outstretched hand? Pride, or the bread of daily life?
