【あらすじ】
「火事と喧嘩は江戸の華」といわれるほど、江戸も町には火事が多かった。いろは48組の“め組”の頭領・政五郎は25年前の文化の大火で、赤子を拾い、その子の親代わりとなる。
それから25年。角太郎はすっかり大きくなり、今ではめ組の花形纏持ちに。そんな時、角太郎の母親と名乗る人物が、政五郎の元へ訪ねて来る。
